Every person on your team who should appear on your website needs an entry in the Team members CMS collection. Each entry powers their card on the About page and their full bio page at /team/[their-name].

What a team member entry creates

  • A card with photo, name, and title in the “Meet the team” section on your About page
  • A dedicated bio page at /team/[their-name] with their full biography, credentials, contact details, and social links
  • An author byline on any articles they publish

Adding a new team member

1

Collect their information first

Before opening the CMS, gather everything listed in the field guide below. Having it ready makes the process much faster.
2

Collect two photos

You need two versions of their headshot:
  • A portrait photo (tall, at least 800px wide) for their bio page
  • A square headshot (1:1 ratio, at least 400×400px) for the About page grid
See photo size requirements →
3

Open CMS → Team members

Log in to Webflow, go to CMS, and click Team members.
4

Click 'Add item' and fill in the fields

See the field guide below.
5

Save & publish

They’ll appear on your About page and have a live bio page immediately.

Field guide

FieldRequiredWhat to enter
NameYesFull name. This becomes their URL slug — e.g. “Sarah Chen” becomes /team/sarah-chen.
Job titleNoTheir role at the firm — e.g. “Managing Partner” or “Sr. Vice President, Private Client Group”.
CredentialsNoProfessional designations exactly as they should appear — e.g. “CFP®, CIMA®”. The ® symbols matter for compliance.
Picture (full)NoPortrait photo for their bio page hero.
Picture (square)NoSquare headshot for the About page grid and article bylines.
Bio summaryNoA one-sentence description. Keep it under 155 characters — it’s used as the SEO description for their bio page.
BioNoFull biography, 2–4 paragraphs. Cover professional background, specialties, philosophy, and a personal note.
EmailNoProfessional email address. Appears as a contact link on their bio page.
PhoneNoPhone number. Appears on their bio page.
LinkedInNoFull URL to their LinkedIn profile.
FacebookNoFull URL to their Facebook profile.
X / TwitterNoFull URL to their X profile.
QuoteNoA personal quote or philosophy statement. Adds personality to their bio page.
ServiceNoLink them to the service lines they specialise in. Enables service-specific advisor display.
LocationsNoLink them to an office location. Useful for multi-office firms.
Enter credentials exactly as written — “CFP®, CIMA®” not “CFP, CIMA”. The registered trademark symbols and specific abbreviations have compliance significance. Copy them directly from the advisor’s official credentials.

Important: both photos are required

If you only upload one photo, parts of your site will show a placeholder:
  • Missing portrait photo → their bio page hero shows a grey placeholder
  • Missing square photo → their card on the About page shows a grey placeholder
Always upload both. If you only have one version, ask your photographer or use a tool like Squoosh to crop a square version.

Editing an existing team member

  1. Go to CMS → Team members
  2. Click the person’s name
  3. Make your changes
  4. Click Save & publish
If a team member has published articles, do not delete their CMS entry — it will break the author byline on those articles. Instead, archive their profile or update it to reflect their departure.

Removing a team member

If someone leaves the firm:
  1. Archive (don’t delete) their CMS entry — this removes them from the site without breaking article links
  2. Reassign authorship on any articles they wrote before archiving

Controlling display order

Team members appear in the order they were created in the CMS by default. To control the order (e.g. putting the founding partner first), ask Finsites support to add a sort order field — this is a common customisation.
